Outreach Commission

The mission of the Outreach Commission is to study, consider, and recommend to the rector and vestry, ways in which our rich resources can be best employed, with the objective to make a positive Christian impact on the world around us. As a ministry in a church that has been designated as a Jubilee Center the Outreach Commission is committed to serving the poor and working toward justice, paying particular attention to actions and programs aimed at the neediest among us, and actions that have the power not only to save, but also to transform lives.

Burbank Elementary School:

Incarnation’s program to tutor and mentor the children of Burbank School continues to be a success with dedicated volunteers from Incarnation.

Peace and Justice Committee:

The Peace and Justice Committee is a chapter member of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship. The committee relies on the Gospel teachings and strives to work for peace and social justice in active and visible ways.

The Living Room:

Outreach supported this outreach to homeless women through grants of underwear and other necessities for their clients. The Living Room is included as a recipient in extra Sunday collections and food drives.

St. Andrew’s Food Program:

St. Andrew’s food program continues to grow and serve more people in Monte Rio and the Russian River area providing bags of groceries, hot meals and clothing weekly.

Heavenly Treasures:

Heavenly Treasures is our thrift shop that offers clothing and household goods to the public. It also provides clothing to the clients of the Living Room. Most of our projects are funded through the profits of Heavenly Treasures.

We invite anyone interested in volunteering for outreach to contact the office of the church or speak with a commission member.
