Open Table
Overview:
The Church of the Incarnation’s sign on Mendocino Avenue best describes the sentiment behind The Open Table Ministry: ALL ARE WELCOME.
The Open Table Ministry is a welcoming ministry that opens Incarnation’s doors to individuals from the neighboring street community providing breakfast and a safe respite from the elements on Sunday mornings. We serve strong hot coffee, boiled eggs, beans and rice, sandwiches, pastries, cereal, and yogurt to approximately 75 members of the street community each Sunday between 7:00 and 8:30. We strive to let the needs of the street community form this ministry.
We are the only organization serving a full breakfast in this area on Sunday mornings. However, we do not just offer food. We sit down and eat with our guests; we talk with them; we get to know them; most importantly, we see them.
Everyone involved in this ministry has gained a personal insight into the plight of the hungry and homeless and has been overwhelmed by the gratitude and graciousness of our guests.
How to Help:
There are many ways to participate in this ministry including: grant writing, shopping, food prep, serving, hosting and greeting, cleanup.

We are always interested in talking with stores that can either donate food or sell us staples at cost.

Our guests often lack the most basic of necessities. We can always use:

• Postage Stamps
• Small-size deodorants and Razors
• Fingernail clippers
• Hand Sanitizer (pocket size)
• Lip Balm
• Rain Coats
• Warm weather repellant coats (parkas)
• Gloves
• Sleeping Bags and Tarps
These items can be dropped off at The Church of The Incarnation - Welcome Center (Attention Open Table) between 9:00am – 12:00 pm Tuesday thru Friday.

We offer 3 Sunday Services:
- 8 am - Traditional
- 9:15 am - More informal and family-oriented
- 11:15 am - More formal with classical chior
