The Rev. Matthew Lawrence has been Rector at Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa, California since 2003. He received the M.Div. from the University of Chicago in 1986 and an additional Master’s degree in Public Policy Studies, also from the U of C, in 1987. Fr. Matt spent several years as a management consultant, policy analyst, and counselor prior to jumping into parish ministry in 1992. He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Barbara Harris in 1990. He has written several articles in national and local periodicals, radio commentaries for public radio, and an unpublished novel. He enjoys movies, hiking, and riding his Vespa, and admires the sermons of Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert. He has been happily married since 1982 to Rose, a Clinical Psychologist, and is the proud father of Tom, a student at George Washington University.
